January 19, 2024

ATLANTA, GA – Hermeus, a leading aerospace and defense technology company specializing in the development of high-speed aircraft, proudly announces the promotion of Mr. Zach Shore to the role of Chief Revenue Officer (CRO). Mr. Shore joins co-founders AJ Piplica (CEO) and Skyler Shuford (COO) on the company’s executive team.

Formerly Vice President of Growth, Mr. Shore has played a pivotal role in developing and executing the company’s go-to-market strategy, especially within the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD). As CRO, Mr. Shore will spearhead the maturation of the company’s sales functions while driving growth across all product lines in both defense and commercial markets. This promotion reflects Hermeus' commitment to recognizing and nurturing top talent within its ranks, as well as its dedication to delivering asymmetric capabilities to our customers.

“Market-making and scaling a venture-backed defense technology company requires a particular set of skills, making this role quite unique,” said Hermeus CEO, AJ Piplica. “There are few people with a track record of success in this environment who also have the leadership pedigree necessary for success as an executive. Zach brings all of these capabilities together. He has a skill for nurturing talent while holding a high bar, not only in his organization, but now across the full company as well. I’m very excited to have him as a leader on this team as we grow.”

Mr. Shore has served in leadership roles across product, business development, and M&A in multiple technical industries. Prior to joining Hermeus in 2022, Mr. Shore was Vice President of Product at Vertafore, a private equity-owned SAAS company in Denver, CO. He joined Anduril Industries as employee 56, where he stood up, led, and delivered the company's Joint All-Domain Command and Control (JADC2) business line. Prior to his time at Anduril, Zach supported dozens of M&A transactions in the Aerospace and Defense market at Fairmont Consulting Group. Additionally, Zach served five years in the U.S. Marine Corps as an Intelligence and Infantry Officer where he served two tours in Iraq and one tour in Afghanistan. He holds a bachelor’s degree in History and Government from Franklin & Marshall College, along with master’s degrees in Business Administration and International Relations from Boston University.

ABOUT HERMEUS

Hermeus is an aerospace and defense technology company founded to radically accelerate air travel by delivering hypersonic aircraft. The company aims to develop hypersonic aircraft quickly and cost-effectively by integrating hardware-rich, iterative development with modern computing and autonomy. This approach has been validated through design, build, and test of the company’s first combined turbojet-ramjet engine and is now being scaled through its first flight vehicle program, Quarterhorse. Hermeus is also developing Darkhorse — an uncrewed hypersonic aircraft designed to deliver unique asymmetric capabilities to the warfighter.
